LASH AFTER CARE
Now that you have a set of gorgeous lashes, take note of these tips to maintain them.
With proper care and fills, your eyelashes can last indefinitely.
-
Do not get your eyelashes wet for the first 24 hours after application.
-
Do not use a spa, sauna or pool for the first 24 hours. The extensions need that amount of time to properly bond.
-
Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes.
-
Brush lashes daily to keep them looking fabulous! If your eyelashes are tangled or crossed over, use the spoolie given to you during your appointment to gently brush them straight and put them in place.
-
Do not use eyelash curlers with your extensions. With proper application you will not need them.
-
Wash your lashes at least once a week to keep them free from oil build up and bacteria. Proper hygiene is very important. Be sure to keep lashes clean by regularly washing. I provide a special foaming “LASH BATH” eyelash cleanser available at Natalie’s Lash Bar & Spa. ($15)
-
Extend you lash life! You can purchase “Nutritional Coating” ($20) to extend the wear of your lash extensions in between fills. Nutritional Coating works as a lash sealant to coat you lashes to help protect the bond between your natural lashes and your extensions. It adds a glossy sheen, keeping them nicely separated and helps protect against humidity, sweat, and oils allowing your extensions to last longer.
-
NO MASCARA! Use only mascaras that are safe for eyelash extensions, no oil-based or waterproof mascaras. Oil based and water proof mascaras will cause your lashes to stick together/tangle, and will also break down the bond between your natural lash and extension. However, if you are the kind of girl who always wants a little extra drama in her lashes, I offer extension safe “Lashscara” ($20) available for purchase at your appointment!! Only apply a little amount of Lashscara to the tips of your lashes, for that extra bump up in the lashes. A little goes a long way! Lashcsara is also perfect for bottom lash application.
-
ONLY use oil-free makeup remover. Any oils in contact with the lashes will result in breaking down the bond between your natural lash and the extension. At Natalie’s Lash Bar & Spa, I provide clients with a do-it-yourself aftercare eyelash wash/cleaner. “LASH BATH”($15)
-
DRY LASHES / DON’T RUB. After showering avoid rubbing lashes. It's best to gently blot them with a towel and let them air dry. You can also dry the lashes by using a hair dryer on the cool setting and blowing them dry from the bottom up. It makes them curlier and fluffy!
-
Try to “sleep pretty” as best as you can. Avoid sleeping face down on your lashes, causing the crunch up and tangle. It will help to prevent eye irritation when you wake up and keep your lashes looking straight.
-
Be cautious when applying facial and eye creams, to avoid the lash line. Too many oil-based products can break down the adhesive.

Natalie’s Lash Bar & Spa recommends touch-up/fill appointments every two and a half to four weeks to maintain your new eyelash extensions.
